		<description>Beth, yep- it seems that to the public, if you are employed inside a library building, you are a librarian. Perhaps this will change on its own once we start better marketing ourselves and out non-bookness. :-)</description>

		<description>I feel your pain.  You don&#039;t have to be a librarian in the traditional sense to hear those same words - &quot;you like to read&quot;.  I fought this when I was 16 and a Page, when I became a circulation tech, when I became Evening Supervisor, when I became Senior Ill Tech, when I moved to Automation and still to this day even though I&#039;m in IT.  My name is not Marian and I don&#039;t teach piano either.  (However, I absolutely adore The Music Man for other reasons.)

I still think we need to define the title librarian a bit better but that is best saved for another day.  Let&#039;s work on letting them know we do more than read.</description>
