		<description>thanks for this post--lots of helpful stuff in here. i second the recommendation for steve krug&#039;s book--reading it is part of the basic training at the web development company i work for, and we come back to his ideas all the time. i&#039;ll have to give &#039;letting go of the words&#039; a try next.

i especially like the point here about focusing on customers and problem solving, and remembering that the technology is just a tool for accomplishing those goals. although i&#039;m not in library science, this is still very relevant to the kinds of advice my clients need about engaging with their customers online. (ie, you shouldn&#039;t start a blog because your competitor has one, or set up a facebook page because facebook is so popular--you should do those things if they&#039;re a good way of joining the conversations you want to be a part of and engaging the people who are important to your business.)</description>
