Reaching Out Beyond the Walls: Virtual Reference, Myspace and Second Life
This session will demonstrate how to incorporate Web-based programs such as virtual reference, Myspace.com and Second Life to increase your virtual library presence and connect with library patrons on another level.
Panelists include Julie Strange, Operations Supervisor for the Maryland statewide virtual reference service, Maryland AskUsNow! Program; Maryann Sheehan, Information Central at Fairfax County Public Library; and Gale Zasada, Library Associate at the West County Area Library in Anne Arundel County. Moderating the panel will be Paulette Hasier, Acting Manager, Education and Member Services, at OCLC CAPCON.
